The Together Journal is a journal with the freedom to be messy, vulnerable and feel safe, together.
I realised the value of a space that is built by the children and that they get to call their own. This journal stands by them, is built with them, and for them.
The Together Journal is filled with spaces to draw with some prompts, pages to document their day and emotions by drawing and using stickers, having pages they could tear apart and stick things on. The journal also provides the children with simple breathing exercises to relieve the pent up emotions; eg: breathing exercises and scribbling to release anger.
The main concern when a child is grieving is the feeling of isolation from normalcy.
This journal acts as a good bridge between providing a sense of inclusivity and belongingness while making the experience fun and collaborative for the children. This journal is designed in a way that it can be used by all children - grieving or not.
