Interact : A Thesis Book is book designed to introduce the reader to my final year project at design school. My project identified a gap in the study of mental health with respect to children aged 5-8 in India.

This book encapsulates the extensive research done on mental health especially for the awareness and expression of emotions for 5-8 year old children in India. It is a culmination of the final year thesis project of game development which aimed to bridge this gap by enabling children to express and emote through a game.

In the process of conducting the primary research, my interactions with children helped me gather drawings done by them about things/ places that made them happy.

Children below the age of 13 are not considered in a study while understanding mental health in India. ~The Live Laugh Love Foundation (TLLLF)

My thesis book acts as a bank of all the research, conversations and observations from primary research with the children, counsellors, teachers and parents, along with process work. Documenting the final outcome and the feedback that I received on the final thesis game design project takes the user on a journey of the design process and thinking, in detail.

The book was aimed to reflect the innocence of the children through playful illustrations made for the final thesis game design project.

​

The illustrations of the various expressions in the book are a part of the card game I designed as part of the final thesis project. The separator pages are drawings done by these 5-8 year old children I had the opportunity to interact with.

Colour coding helps the reader differentiate between sections in this 8” x 8” book. This helps break the monotony throughout the book - given the extensive text and information due to the nature of this project, while stringing the book together as one.
